Elsevier has set up an Information Centre on the newly emerged coronavirus featuring in the current outbreak in China, with free information in English and Mandarin.

The resource is intended to help healthcare professionals, medical researchers and the public, bringing together content from Elsevier’s medical journals, textbooks and clinical experts, alongside resources from other information providers and major health organisations. The centre will be updated regularly with the most current research and evidence-based information available.

Elsevier’s team in China is preparing a similar centre for its local website.

John Danaher, m.d. and president of Global Clinical Solutions at Elsevier, said: “As a member of the research and health community, we want to support healthcare professionals, clinical researchers and policy makers in understanding how this new virus works, and so we have brought together the best available information in this free, one-stop information centre. This site aligns with Elsevier’s commitment to provide free access to key medical and scientific research and information for patients and their caregivers.”

As of 27th January, are reported 3000 cases of the new coronavirus globally, the vast majority within China, with 80 deaths.
